Locals looking to cool off in the Murray are being reminded to monitor conditions and be careful.
The river is set to be busy over the next few days as temperatures soar in Mildura.
Doctor Hannah Calverly from Life Saving Victoria says data suggests the Murray is the most dangerous waterway in the state.
The region is preparing for another scorching weekend.
The temperature in Mildura will continue to build over the next couple of days, heading for 37 tomorrow and 38 on Saturday.
Things will stay warm on Sunday at 35, but it’s likely to rain and there’s a chance of a thunderstorm.
That chance of rain continuing on to Monday, with things cooling down slightly to a maximum of 30.
Extreme UV ratings are expected in the coming days so locals and visitors are encouraged to take care of themselves out in the sun.
