Murray Mallee weekend traffic detections

South Australia Police in Murray Mallee region have detected a number of drivers drink driving, drug driving and committing other traffic offences across the weekend, including:

On Friday, Loxton Police stopped a 48-year-old man on Coral Street, Loxton who was driving while disqualified.

His vehicle was also unregistered, uninsured and found to have safety defects.

He will be summonsed to appear in the Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.

Throughout the weekend, four drivers were reported across the region for allegedly driving with illicit drugs in their system:

  • A 54-year-old Cambrai man was stopped on Black Hill Road, Cambrai.
  • A 36-year-old Karoonda man stopped on the Karoonda Highway, Burdett.
  • A 36-year-old New South Wales man was stopped on the Sturt Highway, Blanchetown.
  • A 34-year-old Loxton man was stopped on Waltham Street, Berri.

All four drivers received an immediate three-month loss of licence and may be summonsed to appear in court pending the analysis of their drug test.
