Mildura Rural City Council says cuts to fuel usage, greenhouse gas emissions and waste going to landfill are among highlights of their Environmental Sustainability Report 2024-25.
The report provides a comprehensive overview of Council’s performance across key sustainability areas, including greenhouse emissions, electricity, fleet, water, biodiversity, waste, and community education and engagement.
Council says key achievements for 2024-25 include:

- Reaching 1,070kW of installed solar panels on Council-owned buildings and facilities
- Reduced greenhouse emissions by 551 tCO₂-e compared to the previous year, driven by improvements in buildings, fleet, and landfill
- Delivered 64 environmental education activities and events
- Diverted and recycled 14,339 tonnes of kerbside food and garden organics (FOGO) waste and 540 tonnes of kerbside glass waste
- Six percent decrease in fuel consumption across Council’s fleet
