There are calls for the Federal Government to provide more cost of living relief for people not only in Victoria’s north-west but across the country.
Mallee Family Care has provided a submission to the Senate Inquiry into the cost of living, saying many locals are struggling to pay for fundamentals including food, housing and healthcare.
It says community organisations are also being stretched to meet the increasing demand for help, and that the relief already provided hasn’t been adequate or targeted to support the most vulnerable members of the community.
