Mildura Youth Parliament Team see Bill passed in Melbourne

Mildura Rural City has congratulated their 2025 Youth Parliament Team, Alissa, Taneshia, Molly, Darcie & Alex on the passing of their Family Violence Education in Secondary Schools Bill 2025, last week at the Victorian Youth Parliament.

The Bill’s primary purpose is to educate secondary school students on family violence; its causes, impacts and prevention.

The Bill’s aim is to prevent the cycle of family violence through the education of youth, by early intervention measures.

This year’s Team have worked together to develop their Bill, speeches, and rebuttals.

The team was fortunate to have Conor Pall, from the Commission for Children & Young People, a local and passionate advocate, to talk about their Bill.

Deputy Mayor Ali Cupper also joined the team last week to talk about parliamentary experiences and processes.

The team’s success is proof of their determination and commitment to this program.

The Youth Engagement Services team say it is proud of this year’s Youth Parliament Team.
