Locals have used World Cancer Day to inspect the Mildura Health Icon Cancer Centre.
The local facility threw open its doors to the public yesterday, saying it was a chance for residents to see how it’s helping close the gap in cancer treatments for patients in Sunraysia, so they can stay closer to home.
Mildura’s Icon Cancer Centre has already seen hundreds of cancer patients in the first eight months of operations.

The day was also a fundraiser to help raise money to build ten apartments to help those who travel to the centre.
Icon says it is hoping to start work on the apartments this year.
