Today is Youth Homelessness Matters Day, a day that shines a spotlight on young people facing housing insecurity and homelessness.

Many face uncertain nights, staying with friends, in shelters, or in places not meant for living.

Mallee Accommodation & Support Program (MASP) Manager – Homelessness Support Trevor Gibbs says MASP is here to support young people facing homelessness in the Mildura, Wentworth and Balranald regions.

“To any young person worried about their housing situation, or who are currently homeless, please come and see us,” he said.

“Finding stable affordable accommodation can be tough, especially in the current climate, but we will work with you as best we can to find a solution that works for you.”

MASP’s Housing Access Program in Victoria can directly take on young people under the age 26 and those older who have been referred to the program by Haven, Home Safe.

In New South Wales the program can be accessed by people of any age.
