A man is before the Court, charged with alleged offences relating to offensive graffiti on a building in Broken Hill last week.
About 8.50am on Monday 15 December 2025, police received reports of alleged offensive graffiti on a hotel on Argent Street, Broken Hill.
Officers attended and found a nazi symbol had allegedly been spray painted on the front of the hotel.
Police immediately commenced an investigation and following extensive inquiries, about 2.10am on Wednesday 17 December 2025, arrested a 32-year-old man on Oxide Street, Broken Hill.
He was taken to Broken Hill Police Station where he was charged with six offences:
• Publicly incite hatred on grounds of race causing fear
• Knowingly display by public act Nazi symbol without excuse
• Intentionally mark premises etc without consent – aggravated
• Possession of equipment for administering prohibited drugs
• Destroy or damage property, and
• Face blackened or disguised with intent commit indictable offence
The man was refused bail and is due to reappear in Broken Hill Local Court on Friday 27 February 2026.
