A man will remain behind bars after pleading guilty to several assaults on a woman in late 2024.
The man fronted the country court in Mildura, where the court heard the man has assaulted his victim in October of last year when he became aggressive after the pair were drinking together.
The court heard the victim attempted to retreat but was followed by the man who twice kicked her in the back, and could be heard yelling obscenities at the woman.
Two weeks later he again attacked the victim with a piece of wood after she talked to him about his use of ice.
A further incident two weeks later saw the man smash windows, attempt break down a door and punch the woman multiple times in the face, before he threw a hatchet at her that only just missed striking her.
He will be sentenced on July 28.
