Man loses his life in skiing incident – Euston

A report is being prepared for the Coroner after the death of a man following a water skiing incident.

About 11:00am Saturday, emergency services were called to the Murray River at Euston, following reports a man had been seriously injured while skiing on the water.

The male skier, aged 42, was treated by Ambulance Victoria paramedics; however, he died at the scene.

With assistance from Victoria Police, officers attached to Barrier Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Ski Racing Victoria says it’ll supporting the family of the New South Wales man, who couldn’t be revived after a fall.

Tributes continue for the father, with his wife saying she’s not sure what she’s to do.

Ski Racing Victoria cancelled the racing on Saturday and Sunday.

It’s is the second fatality at a ski competition in recent weeks, after a man lost his life in an accident at the Southern 80 at Echuca/Moama last month.
