A man has faced court yesterday, charged following an attempted armed robbery.
About 10.20am Monday (4th December, 2023), a man entered a shop on Oxide Street, Broken Hill, and allegedly demanded cash.
The shop attendant retreated to the back of the store and the man fled the location in a car.
A short time later the man was located in a park on Chloride Street, allegedly armed with a knife and an axe.
The man was arrested and taken to Broken Hill Police Station.
The 30-year-old man was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon and have custody of an offensive implement in a public place.
He appeared at Wentworth Local Court yesterday (Tuesday 5th December, 2023), where he was given conditional bail to reappear at Broken Hill Local Court in January 2023.
