A man has faced court following a drug seizure in Broken Hill.
This month police commenced an investigation into the supply of prohibited drugs in Broken Hill.
Following inquiries, about 1.30pm Monday (10 August 2026), police stopped a sedan on Silverton Road, north of Broken Hill.
Officers spoke to the driver, a 40-year-old man, and searched the vehicle, seizing cash.
The man was arrested and taken to Broken Hill Police Station.
Following further inquiries, about 3:00pm the same day, police executed a search warrant at a motel room on Barrier Highway, Broken Hill.
During a search of the room, officers seized cannabis with an estimated potential street value of $3800.
The man was charged with five offences,
- Possess prohibited drug (two counts)
- Recklessly deal with proceeds of crime less than or equal to $5000
- Supply prohibited plant greater than small and less than or equal to indictable quantity
- Never licensed person drive vehicle on road.
