Man charged after boys struck by car in Mildura

Mildura Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a collision in Mildura Thursday evening.

The 57-year-old man from New South Wales has been charged with multiple offences including:

  • dangerous driving causing serious injury
  • four counts of reckless conduct endanger life
  • drive in a manner dangerous/speed dangerous
  • intentionally cause injury.

The charges follow an alleged incident about 11:00pm in Langtree Mall on Thursday, 6 August.

Police will allege the man, driving a Ford Ranger Utility, was involved in a collision with two 12-year-old boys who were riding a motorised bike in the mall.

Both boys remain in hospital with serious injuries.

Police have arrested a man following a collision in Mildura yesterday evening.

It is alleged the driver of a Ford Ranger utility followed two boys, who were both riding motorised push-bikes, through Langtree Mall just after 11:00pm last night, 6 August.

The vehicle allegedly struck the two 12-year-old boys who were both taken to hospital.

One of the boys has been airlifted to a Melbourne hospital with serious injuries.

The collision also caused damage to a light tower at the mall.

The 57-year-old driver was arrested and will be interviewed by detectives from Mildura Crime Investigation Unit.

Detectives are working to determine if the incident is linked to the damage of a nearby shop front shortly before the collision.
