Detectives from the Public Protection Branch yesterday arrested a man from the Riverland over child sex offences.
The 34-year-old was charged with possess child exploitation material.
He was bailed to appear in the Berri Magistrates late August.
This arrest came as a result of a referral from the Joint Anti child Exploitation Team (JACET), a joint initiative between the Australian Federal Police and South Australia Police.
Detective Chief Inspector Naomi Oberscheidt from the Public Protection Branch states, “Police urge anyone in the community who needs to access support in relation to child abuse or exploitation to visit the ACCCE website – www.accce.gov.au – for a full list of available support services with contact details.
“Members of the public who have information about people involved in child abuse and exploitation are urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or www.accce.gov.au/report
If you know abuse is happening right now or a child is at risk, call police immediately on 000.”
