Man arrested after crash at Renmark

A man will face court after a pedestrian was injured in a crash in the Riverland yesterday afternoon.

About 5:00pm on Tuesday 25 August, emergency services were called to Axon Lane, Renmark after reports a Mazda station wagon had crashed.

It will be alleged police located the driver, a 38-year-old local man who was arrested and taken to hospital due to his level of intoxication.

Further investigations revealed the driver had struck a woman, a 68-year-old pedestrian in Nineteenth Street earlier.

The woman was taken to hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver was charged with driving without due care and leaving the scene of an accident after causing harm.

He was issued with an immediate loss of licence for 12 months and the car was seized for forensic examination.

He was bailed to attend court at a later date.
