The company that built Mildura’s Powerhouse Precinct has gone into voluntary administration.
Rork Project’s director Brian O’Rourke confirmed the news on their website, saying the economic conditions have smashed the construction industry.
Rork won the Powerhouse tender in 2022, with the project completed in September last year.
The three companies that make up the Rork Group, in operation for 26 years, have 63 current projects across Victoria, NSW, the ACT and Queensland.
All work has been halted and the sites locked down.
No decisions have been made over the fate of the 80 staff.
Insolvency firm McGrathNicol have been appointed as administrators.
