Locals who’ve received a land bill tax for the first time this year are being urged to check whether they’re eligible for an exemption.

Mildura MP Jade Benham says new land tax thresholds that have been introduced by the Victorian Government has seen many landholders receive the bill.

She says the Nationals opposed the legislation that was pushed through State Parliament last year, that saw the valuation threshold for land tax exemption reduce from $300,000 to just $50,000.
