Just over 13 per cent of locals in Mildura aged 15 and over receive welfare.
Data from the Institute of Public Affairs shows while the number of locals receiving a welfare payment dropped over the last few years, it has grown since 2019 when almost ten per cent of locals received a payment
That number jumped to 13-point-one per cent in 2023.

The Victorian average for 2023 was seven and a half per cent.
