Local organisation says budget is a “mixed bag”

A local community service provider has described the federal budget as a “mixed bag” for regional communities.

Mallee Family Care says it acknowledges Labor’s efforts to address pressing issues such as the cost of living and housing shortages.

But is says more comprehensive solutions are needed to meet the needs of vulnerable populations.

The organisation says the Mallee has been impacted by the broader economic downturn and cost of living crisis.

It says it’s also disappointed there’s been no increase in income support for those on Jobseeker and Youth Allowance.
