Federal MP Anne Webster says electric vehicles won’t do the job for regional Australians, as there’s not enough infrastructure or driving range.
The Member for Mallee says the top selling EV ute, the Ford F-150 Lightning, costs more than 220-thousand dollars, while the price of popular models such as the Ranger and Hilux will rise by thousands of dollars as the Government hits manufacturers with the New Vehicle Efficiency Standard.
Dr Webster will speak on Labor’s NVES Bill when parliament resumes next month after meeting with car dealers across Mallee who have repeatedly raised their concerns about Labor’s plans.

She says Labor’s dream will cost farmers and tradies in the region trying to find a new work ute.
