A local MP is getting behind a program to help Aussie kids have nappies.
The Nappy Collective shows one in ten families across the country (or 280,000 children) have nappy stress, by not having enough nappies for their young children.
Mildura MP Jade Benham says she’s registered her office as a collection point, where new and clean left-over nappies can be dropped off, so they’re passed onto organisations supporting local families.
Ms Benham’s office will be one of 653 collection points across Australia.
‘The Nappy Collective’, a community based not-for-profit organisation that is ensuring all Australian children have nappies that allow them to remain clean, healthy, and happy, and has distributed over 6.8 million nappies to families in need since 2013, including over a million last year.
