Mildura MP Jade Benham has blasted the State Government’s Social Housing Statement, saying she’s disgusted by the commitment.
Victoria Premier Daniel Andrews announced yesterday the plan to build 880 thousand new homes across the state within the next decade, with 152 thousand in Regional VIC.
The Premier also says they’ll introduce a new seven and a half per cent levy on Victorian short-term rental providers, making the state the first in Australia to introduce a short-stay accommodation tax, including a tax on Airbnbs.

Ms Benham says the plan shows a lack of haste by the Government to deliver safe, secure and affordable housing.
