The Member for Mildura says she and her husband offered to stand in the Swan Hill Mayor’s place for Robinvale sister city commemorations.
Jade Benham MP has criticised a decision by council to decline an invitation for the mayor to attend the 40th Anniversary of the Sister City relationship with Robinvale and Villers Bretonneux, saying yes, it means the Mayor is away, however that is also at no cost to Council or ratepayers and all Councillors should be ready to deputise given the Swan Hill Rural City Council have chosen not to have a Deputy Mayor.
The local MP says she worked incredibly hard as the Robinvale Ward Councillor and then the Mayor to get Robinvale on the radar, and also says she’ll continue to pursue the issue if council maintains its position.
