Local Harmony Day event this week

Mildura Rural City Council will celebrate Harmony Week with a free community event this Friday, aimed at celebrating and increasing understanding of our region’s rich cultural diversity.

A Taste of Harmony will take place this Friday, March 22nd, 6.30pm to 9:00pm at Powerhouse Place – Hugh King Drive.

The event is being delivered in partnership with Mildura Rural City Council, AMES Australia, Catholic Care, Mallee Accommodation and Support Program (MASP), Mildura English Language Centre and Sunraysia Mallee Ethnic Communities Council (SMECC), celebrating this year’s theme ‘Everyone belongs’.

There will be food, art, activities and entertainment from a broad range of backgrounds on offer.

The community is encouraged to dress in orange, or clothing that represents their culture, and to bring along their country’s flag to display.

Those who wish to attend the event are asked to bring along a chair, blanket or rug to sit on.
