The Coomealla Angling Club set to release 25,700 Golden Perch fingerlings into the Murray River this week, the first release the club has organised in the last couple of years.

The local club has a history of being pro-active in securing fish numbers for future anglers and for the health of the Murray River.

Since the club was formed in 1987, Coomealla Angling Club, with support from the Coomealla Memorial Sporting Club and NSW Fisheries Native Fish Stocking Program, has organised the release of more than 540,000 fingerlings into the local river system.

Local company, North West Aquaculture, has supplied the fingerlings.

All fish releases into public waters such as rivers, creeks and impoundments requires a fish stocking permit from NSW Department of Primary Industries.

The public is welcome to witness the fingerling release on Friday at 4:00pm at the Dareton Boat Ramp.
