Red Cliffs solo rider, Jaimon Lidsey, has won the Prestige Edging, Jason Lyons Solo Trophy at Mildura’s Olympic Park Speedway on Saturday night with a commanding performance.
Lidsey won all four of his heat races to finish on a maximum score and moved automatically into the Final.
Jaimon was untroubled in winning against a crack international field which included, third placed, four times USA champion, Luke Becker, who also went straight into the final, finishing with nine points but was behind fellow local international, Justin Sedgmen, who finished second with ten heat points.
Mildura fans also watched a small group of 250cc Juniors who rode in support of the Lyons field, as well as a first viewing of an august group of modern Sidecars.
The event also included a good field of Classic Sidecars.
Sidecar racing will become the focus of the Club’s attention over the next four months, beginning as early as this weekend when the Club will host the Outback Lawncare and Rubbish Removal, Gates Sidecar Cup.
Sidecar action will continue right through until the season concludes with the conduct of the 2026 Australian Sidecar Championships scheduled for Friday and Saturday of the 2026 Anzac weekend.
The Gates Sidecar Cup for SUNDAY 25th January has drawn a large field.
