It’s been revealed that more Victorian hospitals are struggling to pay their bills.
The Age has gone through 65 annual reports released this week, finding more than half the health services failed to meet the target number of days’ worth of cash available.
Swan Hill District Hospital had four to five days’ worth of cash available, but there’s no word on the health of Mildura Base Public Hospital’s finances.
The Victorian Opposition says it shows the extent of the State Government’s hospital cash crisis.
Meantime, Mildura Base Hospital CEO Terry Welch is taking 12-months leave.
He’ll be taking long service leave from February next year, with Deputy Chief Matthew Jukes stepping into the role during that time.
