Any plans to amalgamate regional and rural hospitals across Victoria will be opposed by Mildura MP Jade Benham.
The Nationals Member has already called on the Health Minister on whether mandated amalgamations will be ruled out.
The local member is worried Mildura Base Public Hospital could be amalgamated with Bendigo Health.
She says the proposal will see longer waiting lists, reduced healthcare facilities, and a loss of local voices in healthcare.
She also says the Northern Mallee Regional Integrated Partnerships have shown great collaborations with the Mildura Base Public Hospital, Mallee Track and Robinvale District health Services, saying each retains its own governance while working together.
