Heavy rainfall is forecast across the Lower Western District of New South Wales, including Pooncarie and Menindee, over the next couple of days.
The Broken Hill SES have set up a sandbagging point for the Broken Hill Community to prepare early.
They say they will do their best to ensure sand and sandbags remain stocked but ask to be notified on 132 500 if supply is running low.
Hey also ask the community to please bring their own shovel to fill sandbags.
Sand and sandbags will be provided on site.
Barrier Police are reminding people to be mindful of road closures and flash flooding on roads and waterways.
Two roads in the Wentworth Shire Council area currently have a caution notice.
Ivanhoe Road, Pooncarie and Karpa Kora Road, Pooncarie carry a “drive with caution” notice.
Broken Hill and surrounding areas are expecting significant rain today and tomorrow.
