Swan Hill Rural City Council is encouraging the community to have their say on road safety.
This week, RACV launched its My Country Road campaign, inviting Victorians to help identify the regional roads that most urgently need safety improvements.
More than half of Victoria’s road crashes occur on regional roads, and RACV has identified some of the state’s most dangerous country highways using road safety data, crash history, road conditions and design features.
In North-West Victoria, roads identified include:
Murray Valley Highway (Swan Hill to Robinvale)
Calder Highway (Ouyen to Charlton and Ouyen to Mildura)
Robinvale-Sea Lake Road (Robinvale to Manangatang)
Loddon Valley Highway (Bendigo to Kerang)
And several others across the region.
Council is encouraging residents to provide feedback on these roads or nominate another regional road believed to need urgent attention.
Community feedback will help advocate for safer regional roads and increased investment in critical road upgrades.
