There are growing calls for workers across regional Australia to be paid their superannuation entitlements on the same day their wages are paid.
It comes as new figures reveal a record $76 million in unpaid super was recovered for nearly 80,000 tradies across New South Wales over the past financial year.
A further $63 million was recovered for Victorian tradies over the same period.
Marianne Walker from Cbus says it highlights the need for so-called ‘payday super’ laws to ensure local tradies and other workers aren’t being short-changed.
