Swan Hill Rural City Council says they were honoured to recently receive a heartfelt letter of support from Antoine Beauvois, Mayor of Caix, France, for the Caix Square Activation Project in Robinvale.
Caix Square is named after the French village where Lieutenant George Robin Cuttle, MC, was shot down during World War I.
Robinvale itself was named in his memory, creating a unique bond between our two communities that continues more than 100 years later.
Mayor Beauvois shared his pride in seeing Caix Square transformed into a safer, more welcoming and vibrant community space, describing the project as a continuation of the friendship between Robinvale and Caix.
Swan Hill Council have thanked the people of Caix for your warm support and enduring friendship.
