Freight trains back up along Mildura Rail Corridor

Freight trains have been forced to back up along the Mildura Rail Corridor as bushfires continue to burn out of control north-west of Ballarat.

Authorities say all access to ports in Melbourne, Geelong and Portland were blocked.

Our region was fortunate to escape the worst of the fire conditions yesterday, with a top of 43 degrees at 4:00pm.

Today Mildura will reach a top of 34.

The bushfire at Grampians National Park, Mt Stapylton was declared Under Control at midday yesterday, and two bushfire south of Ballarat were listed as Under Control in the early hours of this morning.
