Former Murrayville resident turns 100

A woman born in Murrayville’s recently celebrated her 100th birthday.

Mercedes Crane now lives in an aged care facility in Geelong, but was born and grew up on a farm in the state’s north-west.

She married her husband Ron in 1944 and moved to Geelong in the early 60s.

Mercedes was born in Murrayville, where she grew up on her family’s farm alongside three brothers.

Mercedes celebrated her 100th birthday with over 20 family and friends on May 13th at The Belmont.

She was delighted to receive a Certificate of Congratulations from the Prime Minister and a card from King Charles and Queen Camilla.
