Public hearings are starting on the Freedom of Information Act.
The Victorian Parliament’s Integrity and Oversight Committee will be holding the hearings.
Member for Mildura Jade Benham is part of the committee and says it’ll look at a range of issues including the effectiveness of the Freedom of Information Act’s currentl policy model compared to other options.

The Member for Mildura says they’ve already received submissions.
She says the public hearings give organisations and individuals a useful way to contribute to the committee’s inquiry into FOI.
