Flypast at Sunraysia Gliding Airfield today

One of Air Force's new Pilatus PC-21 aircraft, A54-004 during a flight in the Gippsland region. *** Local Caption *** From early 2019, the new fleet of cutting edge PC-21 aircraft will replace the PC-9/A training system, which has been in service since 1987. Under Project AIR 5428, over $300 million is being invested in new state of the art training facilities, which incorporates seven new PC-21 flight simulators, both at RAAF Base East Sale and at RAAF Base Pearce in Perth. The new facilities in Sale will be constructed by September 2018. The Royal Australian Air Force is planning to commence PC-21 based training of undergraduate students in piloting and flying instructor courses in early 2019.

Keep your eye on the sky this afternoon if you’re around the Sunraysia Gliding Club Airfield at Koorlong.

A Royal Australian Air Force training aircraft, the Pilatus PC-21, will conduct a flypast in support of the Australian Women Pilots’ Association National Conference.

The flight will be happening at around 2.20pm.

Flying is subject to variables including air traffic control, weather, and operational availability. As such, flypasts and displays may be subject to cancellation at short notice.
