Fire Danger Period to start October 1st, NSW

The Bush Fire Danger Period will start in Wentworth and Balranald on October 1.

The NSW Rural Fire Service is urging locals to ensure they’re prepared now, with crews bracing for more fires this season, expecting hotter, drier and windier conditions.

Authorities say there’s an increased risk of grassfires through regional New South Wales due to recent rainfall.

Fire permits will be needed through the danger period, and NO fires can be lit in the open at all when there’s a Total Fire Ban.
