Fire Danger Period still in place

Police are warning locals the Fire Danger Period is still in place across Victoria’s north-west.

It comes after emergency services were called to two separate fires in Swan Hill within a week, one in a backyard causing a lot of smoke.

Police say a resident set fire to excess grass at another property last Tuesday, but the fire was contained to a drum.

Two people have been interviewed in relation to lighting a fire during the fire danger period.

Fire Danger Period restrictions for the area are in force until May 1^st.
