Mildura Rural City Council is seeking feedback on a new plan set to improve road safety in Red Cliffs.
The Draft Red Cliffs Walking and Cycling Plan has been developed to address and support active transport participation, pedestrian and cyclist safety, and road safety more generally.
Some of its key recommendations include:
- Safer crossing points on Jacaranda Street
- Wayfinding improvements to the cliffs and the river
- Wayfinding improvements between town and Quandong Park/caravan park, Peace Walk and other key locations
- Utilising channel reserves for shared user paths
- Improved lighting and path connections at bus stops
- Speed reductions
Feedback can be provided via an online survey at yoursay.mildura.vic.gov.au/rcwcp
Hard copies are also available from the Red Cliffs Library, Red Cliffs Post Office, Red Cliffs Community Resource Centre and Council’s Madden Avenue Customer Service Centre.
The Red Cliffs Walking and Cycling Plan has received $30,000 in funding from the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) Local Government Grant Program to support its development.
Feedback closes 5pm on Sunday 19 January 2025.
