Fears cuts in funding to the skills sector could hit Mildura

There are fears that changes to funding for the Victorian skills training sector will impact access in rural and regional communities.

The State Government is cutting ten percent of the funding dedicated to online learning, and the Independent Tertiary Education Council Australia is worried about how this will exclude students in regional areas like the Mallee.

There will be a thirty percent increase in TAFE funding benefiting institutes like SuniTAFE, but there are concerns these changes reduce opportunities offered by independent training organizations.
