Fatal crash at Lyrup

A woman has died following a crash at Lyrup yesterday morning.

Just before 7.40am yesterday, Tuesday 21 April, police were called to the ferry at Lyrup on Wilson Parade after reports of a vehicle collision.

The Dodge ute collided with a gate while attempting to board the ferry.

The driver, a 68-year-old Riverland man, and his passenger, a 69-year-old Riverland woman, were both transported to hospital by ambulance.

Sadly, the passenger died in hospital a short time later.

Major Crash officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The woman’s death is the 37th life lost on South Australian roads so far this year.
