Ambulance Victoria is honouring its own during National Volunteers Week.
Manangatang farmer Ken Barnes has been an Ambulance Community Officer in the community for the last 35 years.
ACOs are first responders who live in rural and remote communities, providing first aid and are often the first on the scene before ambulance back-up arrives.

Ken says the ACOs in the town are all locals who put in to help the community out and that he was motivated to become an ACO to help care for his community.
