Excessive speed on the Mallee Highway

Ouyen Police have nabbed a couple of excessive speeders recently.  

Both of these radar readings were taken on the Mallee Highway, one was 157kmh in a 100 kmh zone by a 42 year old driver, the second was a 25 year old P plater doing 150kmh in a 100 kmh zone.

Both drivers were given a $962 fine and loss of licence for 12 months.

Local police are reminding drivers that regional drivers represent over half of road deaths this year and driving too fast has been a major contributing factor in many of these deaths.
