Drug dealer found to have contributed to drowning death

A Coroner has found a drug dealer caused or contributed to the drowning death of another man in the Murray River.

The court was told Terrence McCallion jumped into the Murray at Trentham Cliffs in May 2015, but got into trouble and sunk.

He later died in hospital.

The court heard associate Matthew Knight admitted to assaulting the 55-year-old before he entered the water.

The Coroner noted the OPP advised against charges relating to the death.
