Several drivers were caught doing the wrong thing on roads around the Murray Mallee in South Australia over the weekend.
They include about 7:00pm Friday 19 January a 33-year-old Loxton man was reported for drink driving.
He was located driving a vehicle on Bookpurnong Road, Loxton when he was stopped for a breath test. It will be alleged that he returned a positive result of 0.080.
Around the same area on Sunday 21 January around 7:00pm, Riverland Police stopped a 32-year-old Renmark woman for the purposes of a breath test.
She allegedly returned a positive result of 0.070.
Both will face court at a later date.
In Victoria, as Australia Day (26 Jan) falls on a Friday this year during the last week of the school holidays, creating a long weekend, there will likely be an increase in traffic volumes on main arterial roads on Sunday 28 Jan as the school year commences on Mon 29 Jan.
Victorian Police will be targeting speeding and distracted drivers travelling to and from regional areas on major arterial roads and highways.
Police are asking drivers to please drive safely on our roads this coming long weekend.
