Major Crash Investigators have charged a man following a fatal crash at Lyrup on Tuesday.
Just before 7.40am on Tuesday 21 April, police were called to the ferry terminal on Wilson Parade after a Dodge ute collided with a gate while attempting to board the ferry.
The driver, a 68-year-old Riverland man, and his passenger, a 69-year-old Riverland woman, were both transported to hospital by ambulance.
Sadly, the woman died in hospital a short time later.
The Lyrup ferry was closed while police investigated the incident but reopened Tuesday night.
Wednesday Major Crash officers arrested the driver and charged him with causing death by careless driving and driving unlicenced. He was bailed to appear in the Berri Magistrates Court on 15 June.
