Mildura’s Deputy Mayor Mark Eckel won’t be standing for re-election at this year’s local government election.
He’s looking to retire after more than 20-years on Mildura Rural City Council, including time as Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
But he says he’s not impressed with the Victorian Government bringing in single-councillor wards for the municipality, saying there could be potential problems.
