Crowds enjoy perfect weather for centenary celebrations

Big crowds have turned out, with locals and visitors taking part in the centenary celebrations of Dareton/Coomealla.

Restored vintage farm machinery were among the features of a street parade in Dareton on Saturday morning.

Other features of the weekend included an ANZAC Day service and community lunch on the Thursday, opening of the new Dareton Men in a Shed facility, heritage jumpers at the football, a Sunday market, and a Saturday night function that saw the revival of the Coomealla Variety Entertainers.

Organisers have hailed the event a success, saying there’s also support for a horticultural history museum to be established in Dareton.
