Council waiting for State Government over local intersection

Mildura Mayor Liam Wood says Mildura Rural City Council has been fighting for the last five years to get action on a local intersection.

Talk of upgraded safety at the intersection commenced when the Mildura Sporting Precinct was in its initial planning stage.

There was a crash on the corner of Sixteenth Street and Deakin Avenue on the weekend and follows a fatal collision there last month.

Councillor Wood says there may be action soon to upgrade the area, but they’re waiting for the State Government funding.

The Mayor says they’ve been trying to get change at the intersection through VicRoads.
