Police have thanked the Manangatang community after help catching a drink driver in the region.
The community notified Manangatang Police of a drunk/erratic driver on the Mallee Highway.
Senior Constable Beaton intercepted this vehicle and the driver performed a Preliminary Breath Test, which returned a positive reading.
The driver was taken to a police station for an Evidentiary Breath Test which returned an alleged reading of 0.140, nearly three times the legal limit.
Further checks were conducted on the driver’s licence and revealed that the driver was a suspended NSW licence holder.
The driver’s vehicle was subsequently impounded for 30 days.
The driver will be served with a summons to appear at the Swan Hill Magistrates Court at a later date.
